Scientific Research Directions and Projects The Interfaculty Foreign Languages Department is actively engaged in scientific research in several strategic areas. These directions aim to conduct scientific research that meets modern educational demands, expand cooperation with national and international scientific communities, and achieve practical results:
- English Language Teaching Methodology: Developing English as a foreign language teaching methodology is one of the department's priorities. Special attention is paid to developing lexical competencies (N.T.Baltayeva), critical thinking skills (Z.K.Jo‘rayeva), and improving independent learning-oriented approaches (N.R.Saitkulova). Effective work has also been done on improving the educational process based on psycholinguistic approaches (F.O.Djabbarova).
- Research in Mythology and Literary Criticism: The scientific research in this area focuses on studying national and international literary heritage. For instance, comparative analysis of English, Uzbek, and Karakalpak mythology to investigate the reflection of the "human" mythologem in different cultures is of significant importance (N.X.Babadjanova). The poetological genesis of the short story genre in contemporary Uzbek and English-speaking prose and its development principles have been studied (A.S.Baisov). Scientific research on the linguocultural aspect of gothic-themed lexemes (based on works of the XX-XXI centuries) has also been initiated (Q.Sh.Maxmudov).
- Linguistic Analysis and Comparative Studies: A number of scientific works are being carried out in the field of comparative linguistics within the English and Uzbek languages. This includes analyzing translation problems of paremias, international words, and legal terms from cognitive and pragmatic perspectives (D.B.Otajonova, E.G‘.Murodova, G.U.Maxamatxo‘jayeva, M.M.Xonsaidaova, R.J.Tenelbayev).
- Development of Communicative and Didactic Competencies: Research aimed at forming students' communicative and creative skills remains one of the department's important priorities. Through the application of innovative and creative approaches in the classroom, students' independent thinking skills are being developed (S.J.Samadova, F.O.Orazova, G.S.Xaldarchayeva, S.Sh.Zuparova, O.A.Hamraqulova).
- Intercultural Communication and Values: Developing intercultural communication competence and promoting universal values are important aspects of the department's activities. In this regard, much research is being conducted on national values and moral education based on world literature (R.B.Usmonova, Q.Sh.Maxmudov). These directions contribute to enhancing the department's scientific research potential and developing new modern methodologies.
