Established independently in 2021 at Chirchiq State Pedagogical University, the German Language Department focuses on enhancing German language teaching and learning through innovative methods and international best practices. It offers bachelor's and master's programs in foreign language and literature, emphasizing intercultural communication, professional orientation, digitalization, and extensive scientific research in linguistics and pedagogy.

Department of German Language: From Foundation to Progress

The Department of German Language was officially established on August 27, 2021, by Resolution No. 1 of the Academic Council of Chirchik State Pedagogical Institute. Initially operating under the Department of Foreign Languages, it quickly evolved into an independent structure with a mission to become a modern center for language education and academic research.

Primary mission: To improve the mechanisms of teaching and learning German through international best practices and within the framework of an innovative pedagogical cluster.

Strategic goals:

✔️ Integration of international teaching programs such as DLL (Deutsch Lehren Lernen);
✔️ Emphasis on intercultural communicative competence;
✔️ Implementation of profession-oriented language instruction;
✔️ Digitalization of teaching and learning processes;
✔️ Development of a research-oriented academic environment to transform the department into an innovation hub.

The department is currently implementing its 2022–2025 Strategic Development Program.


🧪 Scientific Research: Achievements and Future Plans

The Department of German Language is actively engaged in research aligned with the demands of modern education and international collaboration. Partnerships have been established with prestigious institutions in Germany, including:

  • Heidelberg University of Education

  • University of Münster

  • Leibniz Institute for the German Language (IDS Mannheim)

  • Goethe Institutes

Through these collaborations, numerous offline and online classes, scientific seminars, and internships have been conducted. Both faculty and students participate actively in these initiatives.

📈 Achievements for the 2024–2025 Academic Year:

  • 6 Master’s students were assigned scientific supervisors;

  • 15 scientific articles were published (5 in internationally recognized journals and 10 in national ones);

  • 18 conference theses were presented (3 at national and 15 at international conferences);

  • 1 textbook, 2 teaching manuals, and 3 methodological guides were published;

  • 2 PhD candidates and 3 independent researchers are currently preparing dissertations under the department’s supervision.

These achievements contribute significantly to the department’s research capacity and the development of modern pedagogical methods.

Within the framework of a five-year cooperation agreement signed in 2022 between Chirchik State Pedagogical University and Heidelberg University of Education (Germany), an academic exchange program for students has been launched. Each year, 8 students from Germany visit CSPUto complete a one-month teaching internship at the Department of German Language, the university's academic lyceum, and School No. 29 in the Bo‘stonliq district. In return, 4 talented students from CSPU are sent to Germany annually, where they attend university classes and carry out school-based teaching internships. To date, over 20 German students have visited our university, and more than 10 CSPU students have traveled to Heidelberg as part of this exchange initiative.  

On October 11, 2024, the Department of German Language at Chirchik State Pedagogical University organized a practical-methodological seminar titled "Cooperative Learning in Foreign Language Teaching" at the Faculty of Tourism. During the event, the department’s professors showcased innovative methods and technologies that have proven effective in classroom instruction. The seminar was attended by students of the German language program, guest trainee students, and members of the university community. This seminar provided a platform for sharing best practices in didactics and exploring modern models of cooperative and interactive teaching. 📎 Photos and documentation:

As part of the five-year cooperation agreement signed in 2022 between Chirchik State Pedagogical University and Heidelberg University of Education (Germany), a student academic exchange program has been implemented. According to the agreement, four CSPU students are annually sent to the partner university for a one-month internship. During this time, they gain practical teaching experience in German schools and participate in university classes. In addition, active support is provided to students applying for DAAD’s one-month summer language course (HSK) scholarships. Every October, DAAD representatives visit the university and conduct the OnSET language proficiency test. Students with B1 level German receive assistance in preparing required documents. As a result, three CSPU students have already been awarded this prestigious scholarship and successfully completed studies in Germany. Through the Germanistische Institutspartnerschaft – GIP project (2023–2025), launched in collaboration with Heidelberg University, online and offline classes were held for students. Within the framework of the project, second-year master's student H. Mamadiyorova, majoring in German language and literature, received a scholarship and studied in Germany for one semester.

Effective Initiatives in International Cooperation and Best Practice Exchange

Since 2022, the Department of German Language at Chirchik State Pedagogical University has been actively expanding its international cooperation with prestigious foreign universities and research institutions. The focus is on integrating global best practices into the educational process and strengthening academic collaboration.

The key objectives include:

  • introducing modern international teaching methodologies into higher education;

  • identifying and supporting talented young educators;

  • enabling faculty to participate in international training and internships;

  • monitoring the professional activities of specialists trained abroad and using their scientific-pedagogical potential effectively.

Special emphasis is placed on implementing results from EU-funded projects, regular exchange of information, and applying the experience gained during academic visits abroad.
